A - Knees to the body are allowed while standing. Elbows are not allowed anywhere. Q - How much money will i make? A - If you're traveling you will get reimbursed for up to $50 in expenses. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO PAY AMATEUR FIGHTERS. The goal of amateur mma is to build experience and a winning record to eventually turn pro. Debut pros usually make between $300-500 to fight and $300-$500 to win (Plus knockout, submission or fight of the night bonuses). Q - What gear do i need to compete? A - Men need to bring a groin protector, mouthpiece, 4-oz mma gloves and shorts with no pockets (Or pockets sewn shut). Women need to bring a mouthpiece, sports bra, 4-oz mma gloves and shorts with no pockets (Or the pockets sewn shut). Q - Can i make it to the UFC with my street fighting skills? A - No, those days are long gone. A tough street fighter may garner a few wins against less experienced competitors but even at the amateur level you WILL NOT get to the upper echelon without training. In other words, find a quality gym and start training ASAP. We suggest jiu jitsu, wrestling, muay thai and boxing. For a list of some of the gyms/teams we recommend click (Here). Q - Which shows require licensing?

* Stay in touch. We may not be able to get to the phone every time you call but we will get back to you eventually. For instance, if you're planning to go to a month long mma seminar at a top gym keep us in the loop so when you get back we can schedule some higher profile fights for you.
* Cross train. The more well rounded you're skills the better off you'll be in the cage. * Have faith in our match maker. It's our job to set up the closest matched fights possible and it's your job to prepare for those fights. We pledge to never set you up to fail. Don't
* Ask for easy fights. If you're fighting in the UCL you should be prepared to fight someone that is equal to your skill level.
* Get overzealous with your weight cutting plans. If you tell us you weigh 185 lbs now we WILL NOT set you for a featherweight fight next week. Cutting that much weight in that little time is unhealthy and we DO NOT CONDONE IT * Assume that just cause you're the toughest guy on your block that you'll be the toughest guy in the cage. |
